HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A woman was arrested on Thursday for drug possession after police found her slumped over in her vehicle holding a pipe. Officers from the Hackettstown police department responded to the intersection of Route 46 and East Plane Street at approximately 7:39 p.m.
The woman, identified as Mary K. McCrystal, 36, of Mansfield Township, was discovered in the driver’s seat of her vehicle. On the seat, officers observed a glass pipe containing residue and a plastic bag with a white powdery substance.
During the investigation, McCrystal was found to be in possession of suspected heroin. She was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In addition to the drug charges, McCrystal received several motor vehicle summonses, including driving while suspended and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. She was also cited for having an open or unsealed container of alcohol in her vehicle.
McCrystal was released pending a court appearance. The charges in this case are merely accusations, and she is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
