BOSTON, MA – A Marshfield resident turned a routine purchase into a seven-figure payout after claiming a $2 million grand prize from a Massachusetts State Lottery scratch-off game.

Lottery officials said Robert McKenna won the top prize playing the $2,000,000 Stacked instant ticket game. He opted for the cash option, receiving a one-time payment of $1,300,000 before taxes.

McKenna purchased the winning ticket at Home Spirits, located at 227 Columbia Road in Hanover.

The retailer will receive a $20,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

According to lottery officials, McKenna said he plans to use the winnings to take a vacation and invest.
