Man charged in Columbia Heights knife-point robbery from October
Washington, DC – A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with an early-morning armed robbery in Columbia Heights, more than two months after a man was threatened and robbed at knifepoint on a Northwest DC street.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, when the victim was walking in the 1800 block of Columbia Road NW. According to police, the suspect approached the victim, displayed a knife, and stole personal property before fleeing the scene.
On Tuesday, 31-year-old Samora Samson Buchanan of Northwest DC was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court booking order. He has been charged with Armed Robbery (Knife).
The arrest follows an extended investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department. Details about how Buchanan was identified were not released, and police have not indicated whether the stolen property was recovered.
Buchanan remains in custody as the case proceeds through the court system.
