New Jersey Lottery prizes exceed million highlighted by million scratch off win

TRENTON — New Jersey Lottery players claimed over $7 million in winnings last week, with a $4 million Scratch-Off prize in Salem County topping the list of 29 substantial payouts across the state, according to lottery officials.

The largest win came from a 200X Cash Blitz ticket purchased at the Sunoco Foodmart on Chestnut Street in Elmer. This $30 scratch-off game, launched in August, features three top prizes of $4 million, with only two remaining after this latest win. Another major Scratch-Off prize was awarded in Trenton on Oct. 24, where a Platinum Payout ticket, sold at a Wawa on Flock Road, earned its buyer $1 million. The Platinum Payout game began in February with three $1 million prizes; just one top prize remains.

The Platinum winner recounted the surprise at realizing the full scope of the prize. “I always play a different one,” the player said. “When I first saw what I won, I thought, ‘Ok. Maybe $10,000? That’s great.’ But then I realized it was $1 million.” The player emphasized a cautious approach to the windfall, adding, “Money goes fast, so you have to be careful.”

Draw games also contributed to last week’s prize total. Two tickets split the $861,944 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot on Oct. 21, each taking home $430,972. The winning tickets were sold at Krauszer’s Liquor in Pompton Plains, Passaic County, and the Country Lakes Pub & Grill in Browns Mills, Burlington County. One of the winners expressed excitement about the unexpected windfall, saying, “We are simple people, but we always wanted that big check,” adding that the prize money would go toward savings and home improvements.

These recent winnings come as the New Jersey Lottery continues to offer large jackpots and high-stakes scratch-off prizes, with many top prizes still unclaimed.
