NY Wegmans turns lucky as two lottery winners hit top prize

Three TAKE 5 players win top prize in Auburn, East Rochester, and Holbrook

Albany, NY — Three lucky New Yorkers each scored a top-prize win in Friday’s TAKE 5 evening drawing, with winning tickets worth $10,261 sold in Auburn, East Rochester, and Holbrook.

The winning tickets were sold at three separate retailers across the state. Two were purchased at Wegmans locations—one at 1 Loop Road in Auburn and the other at 851 Fairport Road in East Rochester. The third ticket was sold at Akshar Card & Gift at 342 Union Avenue in Holbrook, Suffolk County.

All three tickets matched all five numbers drawn on January 5 in the TAKE 5 evening game. The TAKE 5 game draws twice daily, offering prizes for players who match between two and five numbers from a field of 1 to 39.

Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Players can check their numbers through the New York Lottery’s website, app, or by visiting authorized retailers.

The New York Lottery remains North America’s most profitable lottery program, directing billions annually to support public education across the state.
