Police searching for 74-year-old man missing from Bronx home

BRONX, NY – Police are asking for the public’s help in finding 74-year-old Alfonso Redd, who has been missing since October 2 after leaving his home on Magenta Street.

Redd was last seen around 3:30 p.m. and has not been heard from since.

Authorities say there is no description of the clothing he was wearing at the time he disappeared.

NYPD requests assistance from public

The New York City Police Department said Redd lives within the confines of the 47th Precinct and Police Service Area 8. Officers have been canvassing the surrounding neighborhoods and checking area hospitals and transit locations as part of the ongoing search.

Missing person alert remains active

Redd is described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall. Police are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or call 911.
