**VIRGINIA BEACH, VA** – The Virginia Beach Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on Grant Avenue on Friday at 2:07 p.m. Officers arrived in the 700 block to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim received aid from officers and was subsequently taken to a hospital nearby for further treatment. During the investigation, police identified Tysia Suttler, an 18-year-old from Virginia Beach, as the suspect involved in the incident.
Suttler was apprehended within a few hours and faces several charges. These include Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, Shooting in Commission of a Felony, Discharge of a Firearm in Public, and Reckless Handling of a Firearm Resulting in Injury.

The motorcycle driver, Justin Thacker, a 44-year-old resident of Virginia Beach, was immediately transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Thacker sadly passed away due to his injuries on March 19, 2025.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive 51-year-old male. The individual was transported to a local hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
