Stony Point Man Faces Murder and Weapons Charges

STONY POINT, NY — District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced the arraignment of Robert Rodriguez, a 36-year-old resident of Stony Point, New York, following his indictment by a Rockland County Grand Jury. Rodriguez faces charges including Murder in the Second Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Arson in the Second Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Concealment of a Human Corpse.

The indictment stems from an incident on the evening of February 15, 2021, where Rodriguez is accused of shooting Ronald Mann at his residence on Call Hollow Road, Haverstraw. After the shooting, Rodriguez allegedly transported the victim’s body in a car to Exit 16 on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, where he set the vehicle on fire with the victim inside.

Following a detailed investigation by the New York State Police, Rodriguez was arrested on February 9, 2024, and subsequently indicted by the Grand Jury on February 14, 2024. He is currently held at the Rockland County Jail.

District Attorney Walsh emphasized the significance of the arraignment in the quest for justice for the victim, praising the investigative efforts of the New York State Police, Assistant District Attorneys, and other involved agencies. Walsh affirmed that the case underscores the legal system’s commitment to holding individuals accountable for such grievous acts.
