Teen killed, another injured in Overnight Lower Manhattan stabbing

NEW YORK, N.Y. — A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed and an 18-year-old man wounded in an attack Thursday evening in Lower Manhattan, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call about an assault at 17 John Street at approximately 7:39 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Yeremi Colino, 17, of East 45th Street in Manhattan, with a stab wound to the chest, and an 18-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the left arm.

Both victims were transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where Colino was pronounced dead. The 18-year-old is listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made as of Friday, and the NYPD continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact law enforcement.

The fatal stabbing adds to a troubling rise in youth violence in New York City.
