January 10, 2026

TOMS RIVER, N.J. – The Toms River Recreation Department has announced a new partnership with Nexplore to offer a hands-on STEAM program that will introduce kids to drone technology, creativity, and flight skills.

The seven-week course begins this month and will take place Fridays at 5:30 p.m. inside the Youth Services Building, located behind the Toms River Police Department. Designed to inspire interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, the program will guide students through drone basics and safe operation. At the conclusion of the program, participants will receive their own Boyage Aeronautics drone to take home.

Parents can register online through the Community Pass portal at register.communitypass.net/tomsriver. Additional information about local recreation activities is available on the township’s website at tomsrivertownship.com/211/Recreation.

Toms River Recreation is launching a seven-week STEAM program teaching kids drone technology, flight, and safety, with each student keeping their own drone.
