Man shot in foot on Benning Road in Northeast DC as gunman sought
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was shot in the foot Saturday night along Benning Road in Northeast Washington, prompting a police investigation and a search for the gunman.
The shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of Benning Road NE.
Responding officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. Medics transported the man to a hospital, where he was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Investigators said the suspect fled the area before officers arrived.
A lookout has been issued for a male wearing dark clothing and a multicolored hoodie who was reportedly armed with a silver handgun.
