WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah announced the sentencing of two Yonkers men, Daquann Johnson and Dieandre Phillips, following their conviction in a violent attack on a local resident. Johnson received a 16-year prison sentence, while Phillips was sentenced to 12 years, both with an additional five years of post-release supervision.
The sentencing occurred Thursday before Judge George Fufidio in Westchester County Court. The jury found the brothers guilty of multiple felonies, including Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, on March 30, after a four-week trial. The charges stemmed from an incident on January 20, 2023, where the defendants assaulted and shot a Yonkers resident following a verbal altercation outside his home.
The attack, which was captured on surveillance, escalated when the defendants used a firearm to beat and subsequently shoot the victim in the back as he fled to his residence. The victim was hospitalized but survived the attack. The quick apprehension of Johnson and Phillips was facilitated by the effective use of surveillance video and license plate readers, leading to their arrest shortly after the incident.
