Man injured in Bronx bottle attack after street dispute

BRONX, N.Y. — A 60-year-old man was injured Wednesday night after being struck in the face with a glass bottle during a street dispute in the University Heights section of the Bronx, police said.

The incident occurred around 8:55 p.m. in front of 2425 Grand Avenue. According to police, the victim was standing outside the location when an unidentified man approached and engaged him in a verbal altercation.

During the dispute, the suspect struck the victim in the face with a glass bottle, causing a laceration to his lip. The assailant then fled the scene on foot, heading south on Grand Avenue.

Emergency medical services transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male last seen wearing a red T-shirt, red shorts, red sneakers, and a red baseball cap.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
