Suspect arrested in fatal Western District shooting of 26-year-old man
BALTIMORE, MD – A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred last month in West Baltimore, police announced.
Timothy Shearn was taken into custody without incident on October 12 in the 1800 block of West Franklin Street. He is charged with the September 9 killing of 26-year-old Deonaye Johnson, who was gunned down in the 1000 block of North Arlington Avenue.
The shooting occurred at approximately 3:09 p.m., when officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the area. Upon arrival, they found Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Shearn was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility following his arrest and formally charged with first-degree murder. The motive behind the shooting has not been disclosed, and the case remains under investigation.
