BALTIMORE — Homicide detectives have arrested a Baltimore man in connection with the August shooting death of 37-year-old Brian Nesbitt in the city’s Southern District, police said.
Damion Thomas, 44, was charged with first-degree murder in the August 21 killing, which occurred in the 800 block of South Paca Street. Authorities allege that Thomas shot Nesbitt multiple times around 12:25 p.m. that day, leaving the victim critically injured at the scene.
Officers responding to reports of gunfire on South Paca Street found Nesbitt suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, according to an initial police advisory.
Thomas was taken into custody at the Southern District police station on October 28, more than two months after the killing, and was subsequently transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility.
The Baltimore Police Department has not released further details on the motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting.
