Woodbridge, NJ – A Barnegat woman was killed early Thursday morning after her vehicle struck a highway divider along the northbound lanes of Route 9 in Woodbridge, New Jersey State Police said.
According to Trooper II Christopher Postorino, the crash occurred at approximately 3:35 a.m. near milepost 127.9 when a Chevrolet SUV driven by Tiara Muhammad veered into the bullnose divider separating the northbound local and express lanes. Muhammad was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the cause of the crash remains under investigation. No other vehicles were involved, and no additional details were immediately available.
Following her death, family members launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses. The fundraiser, organized by Ciara Muhammad, described Tiara as “a sister, daughter, mom, aunt, cousin, and friend” who “was always willing to help and go the extra mile for her friends and family.” The campaign notes that Muhammad was the mother of five children and had been a constant source of support to those around her.
As of press time, the GoFundMe had raised more than $9,400.
