BRONX, N.Y. — A Brooklyn man has been charged with first-degree manslaughter following the death of a 33-year-old man who was stabbed at a Bronx subway station on Saturday.

Shane Cunnison, 37, of 395 Ocean Avenue in Brooklyn, was arrested and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Nigel Dumas, 33, who resided at 617 Story Avenue in the Bronx. The incident occurred at approximately 3:21 p.m. at the East 149th Street and Third Avenue subway station, located within the confines of the 40th Precinct and Transit District 12.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress at the subway station. Upon arrival, officers discovered Dumas with a stab wound to his torso. Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported Dumas to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead despite efforts to save his life.
