Connecticut woman charged with murder after deadly shooting during movie night

Dayville, CT A woman faces charges after allegedly shooting a man while he was watching “Toy Story” with a child. Michelle Yeagher, 65, is charged with murder, carrying a firearm while under the influence, risk of injury to a child, and reckless endangerment in the first degree.

The incident occurred late Monday night at a residence on Pratt Road in Killingly. Andrew Michael Olson, 39, was shot in the chest and later died at Day Kimball Hospital.

Troopers found Olson suffering from a gunshot wound at 9:31 p.m. A child present in the home reported that Yeagher entered the room and opened fire.

Reports indicate Yeagher was found in bed when law enforcement arrived. An officer asked her where the gun was, but she reportedly could not locate it and appeared intoxicated.

During an initial interview, Yeagher allegedly claimed Olson tried to kill her. She said she shot him after he came after her, as she had difficulty unlocking her gun safe before firing the weapon.

According to Yeagher, Olson and the child had come over earlier that evening, and she had gone to bed. Her account conflicted with the child’s testimony, leading to discrepancies in her narrative.

Yeagher was transported out of the residence on a stretcher around 11:30 p.m. She provided further statements the next morning, expressing distress over personal issues leading to her drinking that night.

She claimed to have awakened terrified and retrieved her gun, only remembering seeing an injured person on the floor. Yeagher is currently held at the Connecticut State Department of Correction on a $1 million bond.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for December 11.

Mother charged with murder after drowning her infant son in Connecticut

WASHINGTON, CT — A Connecticut woman has been charged with murder after her 1-month-old son was found drowned. Sadie Fleming, 27, is accused of killing her son, Hudson Fleming, in June. A Silver Alert was issued for the mother and child when they went missing.

An unnamed woman living with Fleming said she last saw Fleming and Hudson around midnight on June 8. The woman informed police that Fleming exhibited troubling symptoms the previous night, including paranoia.

According to the arrest warrant, police were alerted when a witness reported seeing someone resembling Fleming walking alone in a neighborhood. State troopers located Fleming on Blackville Road, where she was wet and appeared disoriented, questioning her about her baby, to which she responded, “What baby?”

As authorities searched for Hudson, his body was discovered in a small body of water, alongside an infant carrier and a vape pen. An autopsy confirmed the cause of death as drowning.

While at the hospital, Fleming divulged details about her mental state, telling officers she had hidden in a closet with Hudson due to her belief that “people were after her.” Her comments included feelings of paranoia related to “Illuminati people.”

Fleming’s mental health history was indicated in police reports, noting she sought medical help for paranoia shortly before the incident. Following the autopsy’s verdict of homicide, police obtained an arrest warrant.

Fleming was arrested on Wednesday and appeared in court the same day. She faces charges of murder and risk of injury to a child, with her bond set at $5 million. Her next court date is scheduled for November 7.
