Montgomery County man wins big with $100,000 lottery prize
Silver Spring, MD
A Montgomery County resident scratched his way to a $100,000 top prize on the MONOPOLY X50 game. The winning ticket was purchased at El Toro Wine and Liquors on November 19.
The player, who is fond of Maryland Lottery scratch-off games, was running errands when he decided to stop for a few tickets. He expressed a preference for the higher-priced games, which offer larger prizes.
Upon scanning the MONOPOLY X50 ticket, he revealed the substantial win and asked the cashier to confirm the result.
Excited by the news, he called his wife to share the good fortune, which brought her great joy.
The HVAC technician promptly made an appointment to claim his winnings. He plans to allocate some funds for the upcoming holidays and save the remainder.
El Toro Wine and Liquors will also receive a $1,000 bonus, amounting to 1% of the prize.
The MONOPOLY X50 scratch-off game, launched in January, still has substantial prizes available. As it stands, only two $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed, along with three $50,000 prizes and numerous other amounts ranging from $10 to $10,000.
The MONOPOLY X50 scratch-off game is licensed by Scientific Games, LLC.

Brothers score $500,000 lottery win after dream reveals numbers
Clarksburg, MD
A pair of brothers from Western Maryland won $500,000 in the Lottery’s Pick 5 drawing. The winning numbers were revealed in a dream experienced by the younger brother prior to the Oct. 29 drawing.
On Oct. 31, the brothers visited the Lottery headquarters to claim their winnings, with each receiving $250,000 after purchasing $10 worth of Pick 5 straight bet tickets. The winning number, 13605, has no significance to either sibling other than its origin in the younger brother’s dream.
Following the dream, the younger brother, who lives in Hagerstown, shared the number with his older sibling in Frederick. The younger brother purchased 10 tickets shortly before noon at the Liberty gas station located at 23300 Clarksburg Road.
The winning numbers were drawn about an hour later. Decades earlier, the younger brother began playing the Lottery after a cousin commented on his license plate. He played the digits 149 and won a Pick 3 prize, leading to a lasting interest in Lottery games, including Pick, Racetrax, and Keno.
When asked about plans for their winnings, the older brother stated uncertainty. The money will be saved for the future, as one brother is retired and the other is semi-retired.
The Liberty gas station that sold the winning tickets will receive a $5,000 bonus for their sale.
