Greenbelt lottery rookie wins $50k on scratch-off ticket

GREENBELT, Md. — A novice Lottery player, nicknamed “Chando,” struck it big just five months into his Lottery journey, winning a $50,000 top prize on the 20X The Cash scratch-off game.

“Chando” started playing Lottery games twice a week after being encouraged by a coworker, dabbling in Pick 5 and various scratch-offs. His luck turned when he purchased seven scratch-offs, including the $5 20X The Cash ticket, from Like on TV, a retailer located at 6198 Greenbelt Road.

While most of the tickets were non-winners, one revealed the $50,000 top prize. Overwhelmed, “Chando” dropped to his knees in disbelief, calling it a “dream come true.”

He plans to use his winnings to purchase a home for his family and celebrate an unforgettable holiday season. The retailer, Like on TV, will also receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The 20X The Cash game, which launched in January, still has one top prize remaining, along with other prizes ranging from $5 to $1,000.
