Lucky Park Avenue stop turns into six figure Powerball win

Manhattan newsstand sells $100K Powerball winner with Powerplay boost

New York, NY — A routine lottery purchase at a busy Midtown newsstand turned into a six-figure win after a Powerball ticket with Power Play delivered a $100,000 prize in the latest drawing.

The New York Lottery confirmed the third-prize-winning ticket was sold at Avenue Newsstand LLP, located at 200 Park Avenue in Manhattan. The ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the Powerball in the April 11 drawing, and included the Power Play option, which increased the prize amount.

Powerball numbers are drawn from a pool of one through 69, with the Powerball selected separately from a field of one through 26. Players who add Power Play have the opportunity to multiply non-jackpot winnings by up to 10 times.

Drawings are held three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

Lottery officials did not release information about the ticket holder.

The New York Lottery reported it contributed $3.6 billion during the fiscal year to support public education across the state, maintaining its position as the largest lottery system in North America.
