Two juveniles arrested after armed moped carjackings in Baltimore

Teens taken into custody after armed robbery spree

Baltimore, MD — Two juveniles were taken into custody after a pair of moped carjackings, including one where a victim was confronted by suspects possibly armed with a gun.

The latest incident occurred around 9:05 p.m. April 30 in the 1300 block of East Eager Street, where a 44-year-old man was sitting on his moped when two suspects approached him.

Investigators said one of the suspects may have been armed. The suspects removed the victim from the moped and fled the scene.

A description of the suspects was broadcast, leading officers to connect the incident to another moped robbery reported earlier the same day in the 1600 block of Rutland Avenue.

Police said two individuals were already in custody in connection with that earlier case.

A 16-year-old male was charged with armed robbery and transported to Central Booking, while a 14-year-old male was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center and placed on electronic monitoring.

The investigation remains ongoing.
