Market Street turns festive today as Elmwood Park celebrates spring with food, music, and family fun.

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. — Market Street is closed to traffic and transformed into a vibrant block party today as Elmwood Park hosts its annual Spring Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

Organized by the Borough of Elmwood Park, the event spans Market Street and the adjacent Recreation Field, featuring dozens of exhibitors, local vendors, and family-friendly attractions. Shoppers can browse through arts and crafts, boutique merchandise, and handmade goods from quality exhibitors set up along the thoroughfare.

The festival also includes a full lineup of live entertainment, with music, dancing, and community demonstrations like karate performances taking place throughout the day. Attendees are invited to enjoy a variety of foods at outdoor tables near the live stage area.

“We have quality exhibitors, live entertainment, great festival foods & food trucks, and so much more,” event organizers shared in the announcement.

Food options include classic carnival fare such as sausage and pepper sandwiches, cheesesteaks, kettle corn, chicken fingers, zeppole, gyros, and Italian ice, alongside a variety of gourmet offerings from food trucks.

Kids zone and community entertainment highlight local pride

Families with young children can explore the Kidz Zone, a dedicated area offering bounce rides, inflatable slides, face painting, sand art, and interactive games designed for all ages.

Local organizations are also participating, using the event to connect with residents and showcase community programs and services. The festival serves as both a celebration of the season and an opportunity for Elmwood Park neighbors to come together in a lively outdoor setting.

Free to the public, the Spring Festival has become a signature community event that draws visitors from throughout the region to Elmwood Park each May.
