July 21, 2024

EAST HANOVER, NJ—The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, along with local law enforcement, is investigating the tragic death of a six-month-old infant found in a parked vehicle in East Hanover.

The incident occurred on July 17, around 1:30 p.m., when East Hanover Police responded to a 911 call concerning a pediatric patient in a vehicle located at a parking lot near South Ridgedale Avenue and Route 10. Despite efforts by paramedics to render lifesaving aid, the infant was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. The child’s mother was also taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Preliminary findings suggest the infant was left unattended in the vehicle prior to her death, but a final determination of the cause and manner of death is still pending.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, along with the East Hanover Police Department and Morris County Sheriff’s Office, are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this case to contact the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office at 973-285-6200 or the East Hanover Police Department at 973-887-0432. No further comments have been made as the investigation remains active.
