Police say group surrounded man sitting in vehicle before stealing property and fleeing through Northwest DC
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A teenager has been arrested after police said a group of suspects surrounded a man sitting inside a vehicle on H Street before stealing property and striking the victim in the head with a rock during a violent robbery.
The robbery happened around 6:04 p.m. May 1 in the 600 block of H Street Northwest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Investigators said four suspects approached the victim while he was seated inside his vehicle.
Police said one suspect snatched the victim’s property before the group attempted to flee on foot.

During the confrontation, another suspect allegedly threw a rock at the victim, striking him in the head before also running from the scene.
First District officers quickly responded and located one suspect nearby.
Police arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male from Northwest D.C. without incident and charged him with robbery involving a snatching offense.
DC Fire and EMS personnel treated the victim at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said nearby security cameras captured images of the remaining suspects, who have not yet been identified.

MPD said rewards of up to $1,000 are available for information leading to arrests and indictments connected to crimes committed in the District.
