Maryland State Police investigating inmate death at Roxbury Correctional Institution

HAGERSTOWN, MD — Maryland State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at Roxbury Correctional Institution in Washington County.

The inmate, identified as 21-year-old Lawrence Antonio Borom, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. Authorities have identified a suspect, who is also an inmate.

Correctional officers discovered Borom on the floor with apparent head injuries. The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Internal Investigative Unit contacted the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit at approximately 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
