Woman rushed to hospital after late-night shooting in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A woman was shot Monday night near the Maryland state line, prompting an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. on March 10, officers responded to the intersection of Southern Avenue and South Capitol Street for reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, police found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was conscious and breathing before being transported to a hospital for treatment.
