TOMS RIVER, NJ – As part of the 50th anniversary of EMS Week, which runs from May 19 to May 26, the Toms River Police Department is extending a special thanks to all paramedics and EMTs.

The department is particularly recognizing its Community Service Officers (CSOs) for their committed service and compassionate care that significantly impact the community daily.

The police department encourages the community to express gratitude and share stories about how these dedicated professionals have made a difference in their lives on their Facebook page.

This year, Toms River Mayor Dan Rodrick announced he would be expanding the Toms River Police Department EMS program by hiring 8 new Community Safety Officers to enable another full time ambulance to be on call for emergencies throughout the community.
