MATAWAN, NJ – After crashing through the front glass door, a deer caused chaos in an eyewear store in Matawan, New Jersey. The incident occurred at Avenue Eyewear, located in a local strip mall.
Witnesses report the deer frantically moved around the store, causing damage in its wake. David Austin, a bystander, noted that the deer eventually left the store when the door was opened, although it did not immediately understand the escape route.
Store employees sought safety in the optometrist’s office at the back of the shop during the ordeal. The store’s management is currently utilizing video footage of the incident as part of their insurance claim process.
