Union County ticket strikes Jersey Cash 5 jackpot worth nearly $1M
TRENTON, NJ – A Jersey Cash 5 ticket sold at a neighborhood food mart in Union County delivered a six-figure windfall after matching all five numbers in Thursday night’s drawing, claiming half of a jackpot approaching $2 million.
Lottery officials confirmed the Union County ticket matched all five winning numbers, securing a $987,480 share of the $1,974,960 jackpot. The drawing represented the fourth top-prize win in the game so far this year.
The numbers drawn were 08, 10, 16, 33, and 43. The Bullseye number was 16, and the XTRA number was 02.
The winning ticket was purchased at Basic Food Mart, located at 498 Chestnut St. in Union. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
The same drawing also produced 49 players who matched four of five numbers plus the Bullseye, earning $500 prizes. Thirteen of those players increased their winnings to $1,000 by selecting the XTRA option.
