Fatal Head-On Collision on Mt. Royal Blvd; Police Investigate

SHALER TOWNSHIP, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide and Collision Reconstruction Units are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on December 12, 2023, at 10:05 PM.

The accident, reported to County 9-1-1, happened in the 400 block of Mt. Royal Blvd in Shaler Township. Responders at the scene discovered an adult female deceased inside an SUV; she was the vehicle’s sole occupant. The second vehicle, a full-size pickup truck driven by an adult male and also its only occupant, was involved in the head-on collision. The male driver received treatment at the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate that the SUV crossed the center line, colliding with the northbound pickup truck. Homicide detectives are actively continuing the investigation.
