Robbery suspects flee scene after late-night incident in d. C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two suspects remain at large following a late-night robbery in Northeast Washington, with police seeking the public’s help in identifying the individuals involved.

The incident occurred on Friday, August 16, at approximately 11:59 p.m. in the 2300 block of South Dakota Avenue, Northeast. The victim reported being approached by two suspects while standing in line at a store. One of the suspects accused the victim of cutting in line before forcibly taking money from the victim’s hand. The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim was not injured.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects during the incident, and police have released the footage to the public. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

“Anyone with information should refrain from taking any action and should immediately contact the police,” the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement. Tips can be provided by calling (202) 727-9099 or by texting the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for the crime.
